I found out last night that my landlord and his wife and kids were leaving today to go to India. I thought it was going to be in a couple of months, so I was surprised it was so soon. She told me that her husband was staying for a month, and she and the kids were staying longer. But then they packed boxes all night long, and I thought, why are they packing up everything they own?
Today her husband told me that he will be gone 40 days, but his wife and kids are staying permanently in India. He is going to start three new businesses in India, and keep his businesses going here in Dubai. He will live one month here, one month in India. His wife is 5 mos pregnant (I didn't know, she is tiny and wears loose clothes) and he said it will be easier for her to be close to parents who will help with the children. They are a very cute couple, I have grown to admire them both.
My precious kids! Leaving today! I spent all day with them and gave them some little finger puppets. I took a lot of photos of them, and really enjoyed our day. Next time I see them they will be grown up, if I ever see them again.
Right before he left, he asked if I wanted a refridgerator to use while I am living in this apartment. My eyes lit up and I said "YES!" I was so excited. Then he had me come look at it. OMG it is a HUGE brand NEW stainless steel side by side. He just bought it last month! OMG I have a huge brand new fridge with a huge freezer. I AM SO EXCITED. I have been living without a refridgerator since November. You have no idea the difference this will make in my life!
Then he gave me a queen sized mattress! (I have been sleeping on a single wide foam pad with a thick blanket over it). It was BETTER THAN CHRISTMAS! Makes me feel so humble and happy.
